In his work “Geometría Popular,” Cuban artist Dagoberto Rodríguez uses fundamental geometric figures to question social organization in contemporary culture. The crowd takes on the form of a square, triangle, and circle—in turn, the crowd reflects narratives of anger, peace, and submission. The PA Takeover Program began in 2019, when the Piero Atchugarry Gallery held a solo exhibition by Túlio Pinto at Fondamenta San'Apollonia in Venice during the Biennale. Pablo Rasgado: When the symbols shatter | Curated by Domenico De Chirico
In his 2019 solo exhibition at Piero Atchugarry Gallery in Miami, When the symbols shatter, Pablo created sculptures and paintings from the rubble of demolished buildings and advertisements. The exhibition is composed of four nuclei of works that use demolition and reconstruction, as fundamental elements for the creation of these pieces. The four bodies of work are reconstructed advertisements, a ghost mural, a minimal house, and a series of extracted paintings.
