Miami, FL

Piero Atchugarry gallery presents a contemporary art program and modern art survey. With locations in Garzón, Uruguay, and Miami, Florida, the gallery focuses mostly on the primary market and the promotion of art internationally and therefore it represents artists from Brazil, Cuba, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, South Africa, Uruguay, United States and Venezuela.

In December 2018, with a space established in Garzón, Uruguay, Piero Atchugarry expanded his program to North America with a second location near Miami’s renowned Design District neighborhood. Now the gallery’s center of operations, the Miami location was the result of a shared vision. Together with architects Diana Boytell and Leonardo Noguez, Piero Atchugarry renovated a 1955, 9,000-square foot warehouse into an exhibition space that deliberately merged the industrial interior with the natural world present outdoors. The Piero Atchugarry Gallery is committed to supporting and presenting the work of international artists with an institutional approach.

PROGRAMMING

  • Piero Atchugarry Gallery

Occupying 4,500 square feet, the Piero Atchugarry Gallery Miami exhibition space serves as the Gallery’s principal exhibition space wherein a rotation of temporary solo and group exhibitions are held by the Gallery’s represented artists. Furthering its commitment to the promotion of art internationally, the Gallery often invites local and international guest curators to curate exhibitions by both contemporary and postwar artists.

  • Survey Space

Spanning 940 square feet, the Miami Survey exhibition space affords solo and group exhibitions of equal significance at a smaller scale. Highlighting a variety of contemporary and emerging artists, the Survey Space incorporates a more experimental program. On occasion the Gallery’s represented artists are invited to showcase an exploratory body of work outside of their usual oeuvre.

  • PA Takeover

The PA Takeover Program organizes satellite exhibitions across the globe. Working outside the walls of the Piero Atchugarry Galleries, PA Takeovers engage new audiences and communities. Exhibiting nationally and internationally, the PA Takeovers are not traveling shows, but rather highly site-specific exhibitions. The program challenges the gallery’s represented artists to think on their feet, adapting to and confronting new floor plans and sites. Each of these sites presents a unique history and architecture, which in turn brings about new associations between the viewer and the work.
